LANDSCAPES

Dream landscapes are a deep thread in my art. I like the simplified, non-perspective landscapes of Indian painting (or Giotto). A few times, I have been able to make one of these landscapes out of glass.

This image of an island in a yellow sea was designed to comment on fantasy. It was one of a set of three, each of which spoke about a different source of truth: math (a grid), observation (a map), and imagination (this window).

I made this one to block off a side window which had an unpleasant view. In this case, the subject was philosophy. I proposed a temple by the shore, maybe for Pythagoras, maybe in Italy.
