Yarmouth Door (Twins #1)
The lower band of colour is Bloor. Christie Pits is the main element in the lower half. The tracks are in red, with Dupont below. The upper tier features large blocks of fancy glass, because it’s different north of Davenport. Wychwood Pond is at upper right, with the TTC Yards just below.
The Art Houses on Clinton and Shaw are marked, as are Banjara and Stubbe’s Chocolates.
This front door is on Yarmouth. This one was so much fun.
The first decision was to give up Toronto’s 15 degree angle, and trust the grid. At once the area revealed itself to have an elegant quilt-like structure.
A front door is a wonderful place for a window. The play of inside and outside is so strong. I love that this window is always seen from both sides.
This window has a near twin, made at the same time, on Markham.
